History
Ron & Elaine Grenier have been in the automotive repair industry since 1970 and have owned and operated Atlas Auto & Exhaust on the Southside since 1981. They were instrumental in the original setup and operation of Thrifty Auto in 1983 and have worked closely with the management and staff with the policies and procedures ever since. As of September 1, 2009 Ron & Elaine have acquired the assets of Thrifty Auto & Exhaust. They are family owned and operated businesses, specializing in full automotive repairs and exhaust systems. The Thrifty location in the west end is also a Tirecraft.
We started out repairing exhaust systems and shock absorbers and later added brakes, front end, suspension and alignment services in the mid 80's. Due to customer demand, we have become full service centers, including manufacturers recommended vehicle maintenance. Our service facilities feature ten bay service centers, and include under-vehicle pits designed to facilitate the repair of exhaust systems on large trucks, buses & motor homes. Tires were added to the product offering at Thrifty (west-end) in the mid 90's.
Most of our new business comes from client referrals, and even local auto repair businesses in the area bring their exhaust system work to us.
